Description Technical Specs Extended Information   Five years ago, RIPP released extensive test data regarding the stock ECU and how it uses "adaptive trimming technology" to keep its stock tune trimmed and compliant to applicable EPA standards.  We explained - and many of our clients confirmed - that the stock ECU will “reverse” tune user programmed inputs by tuning around any alterations and placing the tune back to (or as close to) factory as possible.  We saw this firsthand on the DYNO in the form of back-to-back DYNO passes and loss of power as well as inconsistent air fuel ratios.  This reverse tuning also showed itself as run off stalls during deceleration and hesitation while we tried to run light to full throttle acceleration or in extreme cold starts. As a result RIPP then went on to co-developed the Black Box with Digital Technologies (DT) and our fuel and timing tuner was born. Over the past four years, RIPP and DT redesigned the technology in its Black Box to comply with the processor speed in the stock ECU, and up until last year, we have been successful in tuning with it. Having multiple SDS powered cars in the 350 to 400whp range running various fuel combinations. In fact we are very proud of the Black Box program, and stand behind it one hundred percent. The BRAT is a link between the STOCK ECU and the RIPP Black Box; it stabilizes the ECU to the point where the end user can tune the car normally, as apposed to fighting it. Essentially this results in more consistent tuning sessions, and a stronger more reliable set up over all. No matter whether you naturally aspirated or running any type of forced induction (NOS, Supercharger or Turbo) the BRAT will calibrate the factory sensory to except you tuning option (Apexi AFC, Black Box or the like).
